If you have been looking for Tim’s Thai and finding conflicting addresses, this is the answer: it is here. Jen and Tim run one business at 257 South Miami, and the boba counter and the Thai kitchen are the same operation. That is why it never had its own phone number.
What it looks like is a tea shop — brick walls, wood floors, two nooks with couches, and a stack of board games that people genuinely use. Reviewers describe playing checkers and Connect Four while waiting on food, which tells you both about the pace and about the atmosphere.
What to order
The green curry draws the strongest reactions — one regular calls it the best they have ever had, ordered extra spicy. Pad thai and beef pho are the other two anchors. Chicken fried rice surprises people. On the drinks side: tiger milk with tapioca, Thai coffee, fruit teas, refreshers, bubble waffles, and boba in essentially anything you point at.
The menu moves. Check their Facebook page for what is actually on today rather than assuming.
Why it matters if you have a ticket
This is the one place in this section that works before an evening show. Open until nine on Friday and Saturday, three minutes’ walk from both theatres, and light enough that you are not sitting through the second act regretting it. Order at half five and you will make curtain comfortably.
It is also the best answer downtown if somebody in your party does not want another burger.
